About love and tourism ..
Can you imagine me working out mankind’s greatest mystery for you? Can you imagine me digging out the answer to the question that all human beings, more or less apelike, have asked since we used to walk on all four? What’s the sense of life? Um, well, after on-and-off findings and losses nearly till the end of time, I think I finally got it, at age 40!
There’s no such thing. At least not one for everyone. No way. Each and every one of us is destined to looking for it and finding that piece that gives sense to our life I say piece because some time ago one of my closest friends and me cooked up a theory. We’re born with a hole –just like a fingerprint- which is unique and unrepeatable. There’s only one for everyone, just one thing that fits perfectly in that hole, that fills it in altogether and makes our lives worth living.
I found that piece –it’s Piece E for me, and please, don’t ask me why. I felt it fitted in smoothly and completely. That sensation made me feel whole and it was as if my entire existence was falling back in place and refocusing, like in the story in which everything floats and magically fits in place.
And what does all this have to do with tourism in the first place? Nothing, I’d say… or everything, because this piece came my way in Vallarta, and my current mood, the way I see the world and this town where I live is the result of how my eyes see now.
That’s why I wanted to share this view with all of you, to make those who arrive in Puerto Vallarta believe that answering the big question is possible, and so is the finding of your piece. Who knows? Maybe you’ll find the answer down these cobblestone streets, staring at the sea, or gazing up at the mountain…
